Philips is a Dutch multinational conglomerate active in the Healthcare, Consumer Lifestyle and Lighting. It employs 120 thousand workers in 100 countries.
To improve its human capital management Philips redefined its processes for employee administration, recruitment and payroll. The core HR processes where implemented on a Human Capital Management system which integrated with several other systems.
In scope of this 2-year project
Hashtag Integration was tasked to realize the Integration solution architecture and responsible for solution delivery. Later we were tasked to enhance the fully managed Integration service.
In the first project phase the integration requirements and scope were identified and solution patterns defined.
The solution design and implementation phase were more challenging as the project was mandated to make use of a new fully managed Integration service.
The service was not well defined, it was based on a new integration platform and operated by an System Integrator not familiar with Philips’s IT delivery model.
This became apparent in the first delivery cycles. For example, the service did not foresee in error handling and the responsibilities between project and service were not outlined.
Given no alternative project management decided to mitigate the risk by dedicating project resources to support and enhance the Integration service.
This task fell to Hashtag Integration which set out to enhance the service architecture and processes in collaboration with the service operators and stakeholders.
The outcome was an increase in delivery up to the point where it was no longer considered a risk.
“Hashtag Integration is goal oriented and adapts when required“
